From our first meeting Garry was very patient in explaining (several times) the ins and outs of a Managed Hosted Desktop Service, and this proved very accurate, saving our startup company the cost of buying a server, licensing software and employing an IT person etc – it all came included so was something we didn’t have to worry about. Once the cloud was up and running it became a force multiplier, giving our small number of staff much increased  flexibility to work from home, office or laptop in between, even with fairly rural internet connections.

During the small number of day to day issues we’ve experienced Dave and Raj’s in depth technical expertise and patience have proved invaluable, and they’ve dealt with ‘silly user’ problems through to occasional technical issues quickly and effectively to ensure we maintained service at all times of the day and night. It’s been refreshing to see that in doing so Genmar haven’t rushed to bill us more, which I think is a wider reflection of their primary commitment to service.

When we moved office recently, we spoke first to Garry. The Genmar team quickly planned our new network and hardware requirements. The price was great so we left them to it. We carried the desks in, the computers were plugged in and everything worked first time with no problems. Moving is always stressful, they took the stress away. We have been with Genmar for 6 months, and have been using the cloud system throughout that time. Initially, this was difficult to get used to, swapping between the cloud desktop and normal desktop, but you quickly get use to it. To be honest, we did find the speed a little slow to start, and often our systems would all simultaneously crash, but this was entirely down to out internet provider and the fact we were all operating wirelessly. Since moving to a bigger office and all being connected directly to our router through our office network the speed has been absolutely great, and the ease with which we can store data and access communal office documentation is very impressive. I now cannot imagine us not using the cloud system, as it has also meant we are now able to transfer all our filing over to our online archive and save paper and filing space in the office.

I find Genmar incredibly helpful, and were brilliant at helping me organise our whole system and office move and explaining how everything work, especially considering I am not particularly technologically minded!

To conclude, I would say that the Cloud system is a natural progression for any business and a stress-free way of ensuring that all your old archive documents are safe no matter what happens. There is also the extra benefit of being able to access all work files and emails online from any remote location. I feel sure that eventually everyone will be on the cloud and benefitting from all it has to offer.
